Music’s biggest night– the 54th Grammy Awards take place 12 February. Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, the Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift will be amongst those to perform for the show. The Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars have six nominations each, with Foo Fighters nominated for Album of the Year and Best Rock Album for Wasting Light. Mars is nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Grenade”. Four-time Grammy winner Swift has been nominated for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song for “Mean” and Best Country Album for Speak Now.

The 84th Academy Awards will take place on 26 February 2012, hosted once again by Billy Crystal. This will be Crystal’s ninth time hosting the awards. Following on from the Golden Globes, it seems like The Artist and The Descendants will be going head to head for Best Picture. While Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn) and Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) will be battling it out for Best Actress.
