Nine-time Grammy winner John Legend is to head the Cayman
Islands Live Lounge event on Friday, 3 February at Camana Bay. John Legend has
become a living legend in neo-soul, producing five studio albums with hits such
as Ordinary People, Used to Love You, and Green Light. As an arena artist, John
has shared the stage with such performers as Lauren Hill, Kanye West, and Sade.
John Legend’s intimate, piano-man style makes him a regular on the music
festival circuit.
Born John Roger Stephens, Legend has also received the
special Starlight award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Prior to the release of his debut album, Stephens' career
gained momentum through a series of successful collaborations with multiple
established artists. Stephens added his voice to those of other artists,
assisting in them reaching chart-topper hits. He lent his voice to Kanye West's
All of the Lights, on Slum Village's Selfish and Dilated Peoples' This Way.
Other artists included Jay-Z's Encore, and he sang backing vocals on Alicia
Keys' 2003 song You Don't Know My Name and Fort Minor's High Road. Stephens
played piano on Lauryn Hill's Everything Is Everything.
Also appearing at Cayman Live Lounge is Bobby V, the first
artist signed to Ludacris’ Disturbing Tha Peace label – he’s been compared with
Luther Vandross and Barry White. Now signed to EMI through his own imprint, Blu
Colla Dreams, he put out his fourth studio album, Fly on the Wall, in March
2011. He’s currently recording a fifth studio album which will be entitled V5,
and KIT is slated to be the first single from the new record.
Promoters Monster Media will also be providing prize
packages to John Legend fans in the United States to make this a multi-country
