This year’s theme revolves around New World wines, changing things up from last year’s European wines.

Caring for Cayman’s stray and abandoned animals can be a very tasty affair. Cayman Animal Rescue Enthusiasts will be hosting its second annual Paws for Wine fundraiser on Saturday, 1 October at Ristorante Pappagallo from 6.30pm.

The evening will feature eight different wines from four different countries, with Blackbeard’s acting as the sponsor for the wine. There will be something for every taste, and even expert tasters will have a chance to experience something different. This year’s theme revolves around New World wines, changing things up from last year’s European wines.

Tickets are CI $75 and included in the ticket price will be four tastings, as well as an assortment of delicious hors d’oeuvres along with a unique and very tasteful cocktail carvery station, which will offer food choices themed around the countries of the wines.

Guests will also be entered into a raffle where some wonderful door prizes will be drawn throughout the night. There will also be a silent auction, as well as a live auction with Jay Ehrhart of Radio Cayman acting as the MC for the evening. Live entertainment will be provided by Suite Elite throughout the evening, giving those who might want to put on their dancing shoes an opportunity to hit the dance floor.

There are some amazing items up for grabs in the live and silent auctions as well, with all funds raised at the event going directly back into CARE’s Community spay and neuter programme. According to the organisers, due to the generosity of the sponsors, more than half of the ticket price will go directly to CARE to help the animals.

Tickets are available from Cayman Animal Hospital, Island Veterinary Services, Pet Paradise, Ristorante Pappagallo, Sticks and Stones and Must Love Dogs. WH
