Bars up and down the Seven Mile Strip boast about their location, yet few, if any, of them can match Eastern Star Bar and Lounge out in East End.
Established way back in 1969, Eastern Star has certainly earned its place in East End, and remains a popular spot for locals and visitors to hang out. Although it might seem unassuming from the road, the bar itself is wide and welcoming, while the view from the back porch is ample reward for heading out east.
Separated from the calm, clear water ocean by a perfect stretch of white sandy beach dotted with coconut palms, the bar is the perfect place to stop in for something cool after a drive to the Eastern Districts for those who are not fortunate enough to call that part of the Island home.
Although it has been around for some 40 years, it is only more recently that Eastern Star has been able to serve up a truly local beer, with Caybrew providing the perfect tall, frosty drink for those warm summer evenings. A favourite with visitors and local clientele, the beer has found its niche as much in the Eastern Districts as in the tourist haunts in George Town, making it a true beer of the Cayman Islands.
Through its Goldmember programme, the Cayman Islands Brewery has been working to ensure that wherever a pint of Caybrew is poured, it is done right, and by staff who know the background of the beer and how it is made, enabling them to explain to customers that what they are ordering is truly local yet truly world class.
