The first tangible evidence of a wedding that any guest will receive is the wedding invitation, which means that this should set the tone for the wedding and make the guests want to attend.

“The invitation and accompanying stationery should reflect the style of the wedding with colour selection, theme, motif and aesthetic, among other factors that help convey the level of formality and overall vibe. A successful invitation suite will have guest looking forward to the actual event in anticipation,” says Tina Ebanks of Studio Two Sixteen.

As with many things in life, timing is everything when it comes to wedding invitations. This is especially important for weddings in Cayman, where guests may need to make travel arrangements from across the globe.

“Invitations should ideally be sent out four to six weeks prior to the event, although we’re seeing them sent out as early as eight weeks which is best if Save-the-Date cards have not been sent,” says Tina.

Of course, as with any element of the wedding, it is important to find a designer who can produce an invitation that will match your tastes, and Tina suggests taking a look at the designer’s portfolio to see whether they share your design ethic.

“Once this has been determined, details such as number of guests, invitation quantity and again, the overall style and vibe you want to convey to guests are all important factors,” she says.

Some of the trends in wedding invitations are blind letterpress or embossing, flowers, and pops of colour that bring in personality, according to Tina.

“What’s so unique about invitation design is that even when using something that’s trending, it can still be customised to reflect the individual style,” she says.

In addition to invitations for weddings or any other special occasion, Studio Two Sixteen provide all the pieces that usually accompany the invitation such as Response and Insert Cards. All ‘day-of’ accoutrements including menus, programmes, place cards and all other necessary pieces are offered in addition to events favours, favour containers, luxury printing and design services.

“Studio Two Sixteen is all about the bringing a client’s vision to light and it’s our goal to help each one achieve the custom look they wish for while helping to alleviate some of the stress and make the planning process enjoyable,” says Tina.   WH
