In such an atmosphere there is only one way to beat the odds and that is to be versatile, persistent and to consolidate.

Bob Moseley and his band members are the masters of disguise. Not so much in costume as in sound. Much like a chameleon that changes its colours to match their environment, Bob’s bands will change their repertoire and gear and sometimes even their hats to suite the occasion.

For example, Bob along with band members Don Foster, Chris Hanna, Blake Hurlstone may be performing at the Havana Club for their regular Saturday night gig as Red White and Blues. Here they dish out a hefty dose of jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll. That night Bob’s guitar styling’s typifies the specific blues chord progressions while Chris backs him with his bent minor third to major third chords which are a vital part of the bluesy sound.

At a Rotary Fundraiser you just may catch Gone Country (Bob and his associates) donning a cowboy hat while wailing out a Johnny Cash classic or a George Straight two-step. Don and Blake have no problem swapping their tempos and groove in order to keep the Nashville sound in sync. Bob’s voice is custom made for Country music, evident in many of his recordings which are popular on ROOSTER-FM.

You could be walking along Seven Mile Beach, rum punch in hand and hear a catchy calypso or a version of the tourist classic Margaritaville and guess what, it’s none other than Bob, Don, Chris and Blake performing as Catch of the Day. This extended version of Red White and Blues specialises in a potpourri of easy listening island style sounds and smooth ballads.

Off with the cowboy hat and on with the flowered shirts, whatever it takes to make a living as a musician in Cayman, a place where regular gigs are hard to find. In such an atmosphere there is only one way to beat the odds and that is to be versatile, persistent and to consolidate. I guess a little rehearsal helps too.
