Next month’s Taste of Cayman promises to be a wonderful opportunity for Island Taste, one of Grand Cayman’s longest established fresh food outlets.
A byword for fresh and flavourful island cuisine for the past 35 years, Island Taste plans to tempt foodies with a mouth-watering array of many of their best-loved food items and a couple of new ones that it would like for visitors to Taste of Cayman to try out.
As well as its hot and irresistible beef and chicken patties, the company is rolling out its new shrimp and seafood patty for visitors to sample and comment on. “With our latest patty we’re trying to appeal to different tastes and are relying on visitors to our booths for some on the spot feedback,” says Sarah O’Keefe who co-manages Island Taste and its sister company the Hungry Horse Bar & Restaurant. The Island Taste booth will also be handing out its signature cocktail: the runaway horse, blended with four rums.
Island Taste’s other morish offerings include cocktail sausages wrapped in wafer light filo pastry and spicy sausage patties. For those with a sweet tooth, the food outlet plans to showcase plenty of fresh pastries including banana, coco and raisin breads, coconut rocks and gizzadas.
“We’ve been a family business for over three decades and have clients who’ve been with us since that time,” says co-manager Karen Dyck.
“What we pride ourselves on is offering quality and consistency occasionally looking to introduce new products for our growing client base,” she adds.
Island Taste will also be promoting its first-class catering service at Taste of Cayman. Ideal for private parties and corporate events, sample menus will be handed out at the culinary event in the hope of attracting more clients.
