Find your balance this festive season

The Festive Season is supposed to be a time of relaxation and family. However, more often than not it ends up being one of stress. Between finding gifts and planning Christmas meals, finding a bit of time for yourself can become even tougher than usual, as we all start to look a little frayed around the edges.

Although you might think a holiday is the answer, even that can bring about more stress. Diane Donovan of Body Works suggests putting aside some time to relax and just find your balance again, which should help you enjoy the time of year.

Of course, time put aside for you tends to be swallowed up by other ‘more important’ things rather quickly, so Diane suggests treating the time like any other appointment – block it out and tell people you already have something planned. Of course, booking a yoga class or a massage to fill that time slot once a week can certainly help to make the you-time an unbreakable appointment.

Of course, if you feel in need of a little bit of balance, it is quite likely that those around you feel exactly the same, so giving gifts that can help someone relax and go into the new year ready to take on the world might be just the thing.

Putting together a gift basket containing a variety of small items allows you to give something highly personal, while at the same time knowing that your gift will help someone relax and find a little bit of balance in a coming year that promises to be every bit as rushed as the one that is coming to an end. From all natural lotions and candles to books and CDs, Body Works has a wide selection of gifts, allowing you to combine a couple of favourite items for a unique Christmas gift.

If the whole idea of deciding on a gift is more stress than you can cope with, Body Works also has gift cards available for any value you wish to give. The card can even be given for a specific service, so if someone in your life needs to relax, you can give a gift card for a relaxing massage treatment.

Should massage not appeal to the receiver (you get strange people in the world!) the card can be used for any other service or items in the store – it retains the ‘cash value’ of the service.

So whether you need to find your balance, or want to give a gift with real meaning, a visit to Body Works might be in order this festive season.
