National Gallery’s Art Flix: Held on the third Wednesday in each month the National Gallery presents ART FLIX, a public screening of art films and documentaries relating to the history of art. Introduced with a short lecture, attendees are invited to discuss films following screenings. A complimentary glass of wine accompanies the 6.30pm film at the National Gallery, Harbour Place. Books & Books, Camana Bay: Friday, November 19 at 7pm Join Salman Rushdie for a discussion and signing of his new novel Luka and the Fire of Life. Filled with mischievous wordplay and delving into themes as universal as the power of filial love and the meaning of mortality, Luka and the Fire of Life is a book of wonders for all ages. Salman Rushdie was recently awarded the Booker of all Bookers for his novel Midnight’s Children.

Children’s Book Festival: 27 November Hosted by Books & Books in partnership with Maples and Calder, the festival features an impressive lineup of internationally celebrated children’s authors. Eric Litwin and James Dean, author and illustrator of Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, will entertain the four to seven year olds, while preteens can meet Ridley Pearson, author of the Kingdom Keepers series, and Tom Angleberger, author of The Strange Case of Origami Yoda.
