A series of three two-mile races, held over three weekends on Saturday 11, 18 and 25 September, the Fidelity Fun Run series is a great way to track your fitness from year to year.

The competition rewards consistency as those who compete in all three events are more likely to win the overall competition than those who merely compete in one or two. The distance is also perfect for those just getting into road running, while the quality of the field makes it a testing event for even the fleetest feat on Island. The first event is usually the slowest of the three as competitors try to find their pace, while the contenders up front try to size up their opponents.

On the second and third events, participants try to push for a better time, or beat someone who finished just in front of them in the previous race. The front runners will be aiming for times under 10 minutes for the course.

The event will start at 7.30am, with registration from 6.30am. The two-mile route will start opposite John Gray High School on Walkers Road and finish on Denham Thompson Way.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female point scorers overall for the series, as well as to the top three male and female point scorers in age groups ranging from under 12 to 60 plus.

The top three points scorers in the pram division will also receive awards. The first 10 finishers overall and in each age group at each of the three events will receive points. Entry for the series is $15, with single race event entry for $5.   WH
