Beer Fact
Located in The Falls Plaza on West Bay Road, Legendz has become an institution among sports fans in Cayman.
With a menu sporting over 120 items, customers are certain to find something to their liking.
“We’ve got five satellites, so we can anything you want, any sporting event known to man we can get on TV. We’ve got football coming up, we’ve got hockey in October,” says Todd Lucas, restaurant manager at Legendz.
With big screen TVs lining the walls, every seat in the house has a view of the game.
“It’s reasonably priced food, massive portions, we open early and we close late. It just works,” says Todd.
With the kitchen open until midnight during the week and until 11pm on the weekend you can still your hunger even if the game goes into overtime.
The customers include a mix of locals and tourists from the hotels and condos across the street on Seven Mile Beach.
According to Todd, with the diverse clientele, Caybrew was a natural choice.
“Because we have so many tourists, they want the local flavour. When I came here, we had the bottles, so I talked to them and said ‘Let’s get some draft in here’. Since we’ve had it it’s just gone out the door. The tourists love it - it’s a great beer, it’s a quality product. It’s made locally - that’s what people want,” says Todd.
Participating in the Gold Member programme has certainly had its benefits for the staff at Legendz.
“A lot of people don’t know about draft - how it’s made, what these guys do, the process. Now they’ll be able to tell all our guests exactly what’s going on and sell it like that. The more you know the better; people are impressed by that stuff,” he says.
Todd also hints that the menu could see a couple of new additions in the coming months, making a visit to Legendz well worth it, even when there isn’t a game you want
to catch. WH
