Summer is slowly creeping up again, which makes it the perfect time for local residents to start looking around for summer staycation getaways.

Although the Seven Mile Beach corridor remains a favourite with tourists, residents who want to break away and put some distance between themselves and the office are much better served by escaping to the Eastern Districts.

The Reef Resort in East End has a full menu of summer staycation offers, valid from 10 April to 20 December.

With on site watersports, a spa, restaurant and beach bar, the resort offers a great getaway, only some 40 minutes from George Town.

With quiet beaches and cooling breezes, the Eastern Districts can sometimes feel like a completely different Islands, very far removed from the hustle and bustle of Seven Mile Beach.

All the rooms in the resort are oceanfront rooms and the resort offers a range of options, starting with a beachfront studio suite, which accommodates two people and includes a kitchenette, for only CI$129 per night.

For those looking for something a bit more special, the beachfront deluxe studio suite includes an oversized Jacuzzi tub for CI$149.

The beachfront one bedroom suite has a full kitchen, dining area and living room, as well as two Murphy beds in the living room and can accommodate up to four people for CI$179.

The biggest suite on offer is the beachfront two bedroom suite, which contains a full kitchen, dining area and living room, as well as two bedrooms and two Murphy beds in the living room. The suite can sleep up to six, with a price of CI$249 per night.

The benefits of a staycation at the Reef extends even further, as all staycation reservations now include a complimentary continental breakfast, including muffins, pastries, cereal, tea, coffee and juice.

White Sands Watersports offers a ten per cent discount to all local guests, with Le Soleil Spa offering the same.

So whether you decide to enjoy the great outdoors or the relaxing indoors, you are certain to get a great deal.
