Have a legendary lunch

The traditional sports bar’s menu is usually nothing more than a burger and a selection of side orders with the emphasis on fries, all washed down with copious amounts of beer, of course.

Yet Legendz offers much more, such as sandwich combos, chicken combos, stir fry dishes, pasta, pizzas, fajitas and all sorts of grills at a reasonable price.

The beer selection is good, of course, but there are other drinks to enjoy through the four hours of an American football game such as cocktails, frozen drinks, wine and cider.

Situated in the Falls Shopping Centre on Seven Mile Beach, directly opposite the Westin hotel, the clientele and the extensive menu guarantees that they will come back for more than just the Sunday afternoon session when the NFL is shown and the place is packed.

With wall-to-wall plasma screens and a good vantage point from every seat, it’s no wonder the place is one of the most popular spots when a major sports event is on.

Not looking for something too exotic, I plumped for the Rasta Mon Jerk Ya burger and fries and my colleague had fajitas and we both thoroughly enjoyed the champion-size portions.

For the hearty eaters the appetisers include Buffalo wings, crab ragoons, steamed edmame pods and vegetable samosas – enough choice to whet anybody’s appetite.

The burgers have fabulous names such as I’m Sooo Bleu, Pot Roast and It’s a Beautiful Morning.

Of the chicken combos, my favourite is the sautéed mushroom chicken grill closely followed by teriyaki chicken grill for connoisseurs of grilled pineapple and Monterey Jack.

Legendz offers a full menu all day through to midnight, so it is perfect for anyone with a late night craving.

It is open from 11.30am to 1am from Monday to Friday, 11.30am to 12am on Saturday and 12pm to 12am on Sunday.   WH
