Morganne Forbes is North Side’s Pirates Week Heritage Queen for 2012.
She was crowned at the climax of a special North Side Pirates Week Committee Heritage Queen Competition and Fashion Show, held on Saturday, 29 September at the North Side Civic Centre in Grand Cayman.
Ms Forbes had taken the stage alongside fellow hopefuls Abigail Conolly, Shania Whittaker and Jessica Ebanks, each of whom then spoke, presented their costumes and played to the crowd.
The judging team of Lucia Panton, Ragilow Blake, of Pirates Week presenting sponsor Saxon MG, and Thomas Ernesto Carter chose Ms Forbes, who also captured Facebook People’s Choice 2012.
There was also a fashion show sponsored by Reflections, as well as a performance by Gold Class winners North Side Primary School, who showcased folk songs and quadrille dancing choreographed by Brian Watler Jr.

The grand prize, a trip to Cayman Brac donated by Cayman Airways, was won by Jake Manderson. Jessica Manderson took home the door prize of a one night stay donated by Comfort Suites. This was pulled out of the bag by Shari Whittaker, winner of the Over the Edge dinner voucher.
Other Pirates Week Committee Members including chairman Jay Ebanks, Geoffrey Ebanks and Alex Johnson said that they were extremely elated with the large turnout and the success of the show, which was choreographed by Felisiana Ebanks, assisted by Josh McLean and chaired by Wendy Quinland.
