The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise has inducted Dr. Sook Yin as an honorary member of the club.

Dr. Yin has a long history of working with the organisation on various community projects, most notably those associated with the Cayman Islands Cancer Society, the Cayman Heart Fund and the Health4Youth initiative.

As an honorary member of the club, Dr. Yin will be able to attend all of the club’s meetings and fellowship events. Honorary membership is bestowed upon distinguished citizens who display the ideals of Rotary International, as well as have been nominated for this privilege and approved by the club’s
board of directors.

Other honorary members of the club include Marie Beatrice Taylor, wife of Cayman Islands Governor Duncan Taylor; Deputy Governor Franz Manderson; Sybil McLaughlin, former Speaker of the Cayman Islands Legislative Assembly and a national hero of the territory; Police Commissioner David Baines, former Chief Magistrate Margaret Ramsay Hale, Eddie Balderamos, Rex Crighton and Meg Paterson. Rotarians Ed Mead and Robert Ketron are frequent visitors to the club when they visit Grand Cayman and are also honourary members.

Rotary Sunrise is a diverse group of like-minded professionals, ages 30 years and older who are committed to serving the community. The group is scheduled to meet at the Grand Old House for breakfast on Wednesday mornings at 6.45am for 7am.
