Feed Our Future Cayman Islands got a big gift when the Flowers Sea Swim agreed to make it their chosen charity for 2012.

Thanks to a record turnout for the internationally known swim, more than $US$37,700 was donated to Feed Our Future. The cheque presentation was made at the CL Flowers & Sons office in Grand Cayman. Stacey VanDevelde, chairwoman of Feed Our Future, accepted on behalf of the organisation.

Feed Our Future provides children in need with school meals.

“We are extremely grateful to the Flowers family for allowing us to be part of the 20th annual sea swim. It has provided us a significant financial boost for the 2012/13 school year, and gained our cause valuable public exposure,” she said.

Frank Flowers, organiser of the sea swim, added, “It was our pleasure. This group is the most enthusiastic that we have worked with and we look forward to working with them again next year.”
