Main Story:

What’s the way forward?

The Ministerial Council for Tourism and Development and the Tourism Advisory Council has been established to help put together a shared vision of what’s needed. The Department of Tourism is just a small part of the overall tourism product. The part of the product that deals with investment such as the new port development needed to be brought together in synergy with the rest of the tourism product in order for tourism as a whole to work effectively and I believe the establishment of these two entities will achieve this goal.

The most important thing is that we all have a shared vision and all move forward together to achieve this. We need to understand our target markets and how to attract them and understand product development to help identify these markets and how we can appeal to them. We need to put together the building blocks to produce clearly understood goals with a vision that best affects the DoT’s mandate.
