Design Studio recently opened its doors in Cayman, bringing a fun, contemporary feel to the islands’ home furnishings market. Located at The Strand, Design Studio offers full-service interior design, landscape architecture and interior architecture as well as the retail store. Owner Michelle Butler decided to open the shop, which already has a branch in Turks and Caicos, after identifying a gap in the local market.

“I was doing the interior design on a few different places but we were finding that those finishing touches, the accessories, were being shipped in because we couldn’t find what we wanted in Cayman,” Michelle says. “The products at Design Studio are really accessible in terms of price point and style.”

The store’s fun, island-inspired atmosphere has already exceeded expectations.

“Word of mouth has been positive,” Michelle says. “The store has become well-known for great accessories and gifts.”
