With Cayman offering some of the best weather in the world, it is only natural to take advantage of the great outdoors.

Many people are now choosing to incorporate al fresco settings into their home, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine or entertaining family and friends.
 
And when it comes to decorating, the possibilities are endless. Inspiration can be found in the sweeping vistas of the Mediterranean, the lush courtyards of Asia, or the vibrant gardens of the English countryside. The only limit is your imagination.
 
San Sebastian, Davenport Development’s new townhouse complex, is taking this trend to an unprecedented level in Cayman.
 
Managing director Paul Pearson believes the development, with 90 townhouses and 48 one-bedroom condominiums, will redefine the concept of outdoor living.
 
“The outdoor living areas [at San Sebastian] were inspired by my parent’s home in Spain,” Mr Pearson explains. “Spanish homes have these great outdoor living areas, they live their lives outside, and I really wanted to see that in Cayman.
 
“We have the climate and great views. I couldn’t understand why no-one was doing that here.”
 
The South Sound development will have three private outdoor spaces: an enclosed front courtyard, at 21 by 15 feet; a back patio, also 21 feet by 15 feet; and, the pièce de résistance, a rooftop terrace measuring 900 square feet. The partially-covered terraces will be equipped with water and electricity. Mr Pearson says the owners will be free to decorate the rooftop area to suit their taste and style.
 
The aim is to create a home that revolves as much around the outdoors as it does the indoors, a space that can have multiple uses while capturing the best of Cayman’s scenery and climate. 
“In Europe and in Australia, people live outdoors,” Mr Pearson says. “I want to see that in Cayman.”
