CENSUS 2010 UPDATE
TOPIC: Statistics
February 24, 2010

Main Story:

Economic Update

Preparation for the 2010 Population and Housing Census is under way at the Economic and Statistics Office with approximately nine months remaining before the Census.

The Census Advisory Committee now has four sub-committees that are working, in some cases, on a weekly basis to ensure that all aspects of the census are on schedule. These sub-committees are focused on the census questionnaire and manuals, mapping, publicity and logistics.

The draft census questionnaire, which was piloted in October 2009, is being finalised along with training manuals and other census documents while Enumeration Area maps are being revised and redrawn for better management of the collection of census data.

Approximately 250 persons will be required for the data collection and supervision of field work for the Census. Recruitment will begin in June 2010.
