The Small Business Development Committee of the Chamber of Commerce introduced a series of Business Assistance Seminars during the third quarter of 2009.

The Committee, co-chaired by Councilors Mr. David Kirkaldy of Massive Equipment and Rentals and Mr. Farried Sulliman, Managing Director of Scotiabank, organised these free seminars to provide member businesses with useful advice about how to succeed during these challenging times.

The first presentation, hosted by KPMG, entitled “Succeeding in Turbulent Times” addressed ways businesses can preserve cash, cut costs and identified potential risks and opportunities for businesses. “Thriving During the Economic Crisis” covered reducing operating costs, increasing efficiency, and containing compensation costs through objective measurements was presented by PerformancePath.
