Gordon Rowell has been appointed head of Insurance Supervision with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, responsible for monitoring the insurance industry’s development and managing the Insurance Supervision Division staff.
Rowell has extensive international experience dealing with insurance issues, having worked on the team that dealt with the UK government during its review of the British Overseas Dependent territories by KPMG in 2000, and he was also a member of the delegation working with the Financial Action task Force securing Cayman’s removal from its money laundering blacklist published in 2000. He is also a frequent speaker at insurance conferences, locally, regionally and internationally.
