A 40-year-old
woman was arrested after an early morning car crash Tuesday on Crewe Road.
Royal Cayman
Islands Police said at about 1.45 a.m. Tuesday, the woman was driving a Jeep
east on Crewe Road, George Town.
As the vehicle
approached Canal Lane
it left the roadway, collided with a concrete column and overturned, leaving
the driver trapped inside.
Emergency
services attended and the driver was cut free from the vehicle. She was taken
to George Town
hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
There was
no-one else within the vehicle at the time of the crash and no other vehicles
were involved.
The driver was
arrested on suspicion of DUI and was released on police bail.
RCIPS officers
at Tuesday’s crash scene said a dog had been killed in the crash, but it was
not clear where the animal had come from.
