Festival of the Seas

Island roast

Out of the kitchen
Oct. 23: Chefs from Cayman’s leading restaurants, including Blue Cilantro, Calypso Grill, Luca, Agua, Mizu and Ortanique, join forces for the Cayman Culinary Society’s annual fundraiser. Chefs from each restaurant will serve a signature three-course dinner, prepared tableside, at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. Tickets are $145. Cayman Cocktail Week
Oct. 24-31: Celebrate Cayman’s cocktail scene with a host of events, from special tastings to garden parties. Highlights include the “Monte Carlo Casino Night” at Grand Old House on Oct. 24; “Cheeky Tiki” pig roast at South West Collective on Oct. 25; and “Ciao Bella,” a contemporary Italian cocktail dinner at Agua on Oct. 29. NCVO Telethon
Oct. 25: The NCVO hosts their annual Telethon at the Prospect Playhouse from 7 p.m. until midnight. The show will also be broadcast live on Cayman 27 and Radio Cayman. Members of the public are encouraged to call in during the show and make a donation on 946-6136. All funds raised go directly towards the organization’s children’s programs.

‘Rise Up’
Oct. 29: As part of the Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase, the Cayman Islands National Museum hosts a screening of “Rise Up” a 2010 fly-on-the-wall documentary which follows the rhythms of Jamaican street music. The film will be shown at 6:30 p.m. in the museum’s courtyard, followed by a public discussion.

Rotary house Of horrors
Oct. 30 - Nov. 1: Get ready to scream this Halloween with the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman’s haunted House of Horrors, 6:30-10:30 p.m., on The Crescent, Camana Bay. $10 entry donation. No children under 10 will be admitted without an adult.

Game of Thrones

Halloween Party
Oct. 31: Royal Palms hosts its first Halloween party in conjunction with Spin FM. The evening begins with a two-hour “Horror on the Seas” party aboard the Happy Hour boat, departing from Royal Palms at 7 p.m., followed by the “Haunted Mansion” party at Royal Palms.
