‘Cirque Tropicale’
Sept. 19-20: A host of international performers are set to delight audiences in this Broadway-style extravaganza at the Harquail Theatre. Family-friendly show times are at 4 p.m.; adult-only shows are at 9 p.m. Tickets are available at the Harquail Theatre or by visiting kycirquetropicale.com. A ticket delivery service is also available. Call 924-8225. Admission for children (under 16) is US$40, general admission is $50 for the early show, $75 for the late show. Paws for wine
Sept. 20: Cayman Animal Rescue Enthusiasts hosts its annual Paws for Wine fundraiser at Ristorante Pappagallo, West Bay. Includes wine tasting, food stations, live and silent auction, as well as entertainment courtesy of Bona Fide. Tickets are $75, available from Must Love Dogs, Island Veterinary Services, Cayman Animal Hospital, Ristorante Pappagallo and Bliss Yoga.
Skate competition
Sept 20: YNC and DOPE charity (Donating Our Pennies Everywhere) host Back to School Skate Jam at the Black Pearl skate park, 4 p.m. Advanced and beginner categories include Best Jam and Best Trick. ‘Hannah’s Confession’
Sept. 26-Oct. 4: The Cayman Islands Performing Arts Company presents “Hannah’s Confession” at the Harquail Theatre, Friday and Saturday nights through Oct. 4. The arts company consists of 25 children from local schools who are passionate about the performing arts, as well as veteran actors and actresses, including Rita Estevanovich and Michael McLaughlin. Book Signing
Sept. 27: Local author Taura Ebanks will sign copies of her children’s book “Let’s Explore the Cayman Islands” at Book Nook, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Illustrated by local artist Simone Scott, the book showcases the beauty and culture of the Cayman Islands.
UNlike festival
Sept. 27: In celebration of its 30th anniversary, United World Colleges Cayman Islands and partner Friends of Film host “Unlike.” The event will include local short films and documentaries screened at Regal cinema, as well as art displays and live music on The Paseo, Camana Bay. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Restaurant month
Oct. 1-31: Enjoy a meal out at some of Cayman’s finest restaurants at value-for-money fixed prices. Two-course lunch for $15, and three-course dinner for $29. Participating restaurants only.
Red Carpet Ready show

OKtoberfest

‘Mary Slessor: Great White Ma’

Island roast
