Cayman islands Fashion Week
April 23-25: The event kicks off with the Culture & Style Welcome Party at Cayman Cabana, 8 p.m. on April 23. Other invents include the Mystyle Soiree on April 24 at XQ’s from 8 p.m., and the “Fashion Rocks” runway show on April 25 at the Lions Centre, 8 p.m. Tickets are available at NKY Collections, Arabus, Funky Monkey, Partial to Blue and Sand Angels. Dinner by the bite

Hatitude
April 25: The National Trust for the Cayman Islands’ fundraiser gala “Hatitude with Gratitude” is at Pedro St. James, 4-7 p.m. The theme is “A day at the races,” with a dressage event, best-dressed competition, music by local artists, “betting” station, Champagne tent, and live and silent auctions. Junior Carnival Batabano
April 25: Cayman’s carnival for youngsters includes a family fun day starting at 1 p.m. at the old government administration site (the Glass House), a parade downtown beginning at 3 p.m. and a Teen Jam at the South Sound Community Centre, 7-11 p.m. For more details, visit caymancarnival.com.
Poetry festival

Cayman Carnival Batabano
May 2: Cayman Carnival Batabano features Caribbean music, dancing and colorful costumes. Watch the parade wind its way along the streets of George Town. This year, the route has been extended from Public Beach to Harbour Drive, where the party continues with more music, a food festival and artisan market. May 7: The popular comedic stage production returns to the Harquail Theatre. Performance dates are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 6 p.m. Through May 31. Red Cross Gala
May 9: The Cayman Islands Red Cross hosts a dinner/dance gala from 6:30 p.m. in the Governor’s Ballroom at the Westin Seven Mile Beach Resort. All proceeds from the event help to fund the work of the CIRC. Corporate tables are $1,500 and individual tickets are $150. Contact director@redcross.org.ky or 916-3345 for more information.
Petapalooza
May 23: Help raise funds for Cayman’s animals in need at the Cayman Islands Humane Society’s annual music festival “Petapalooza,” from 2 p.m. until midnight at Royal Palms. The festival includes performances by local musicians, drink specials, and fun for the entire family, including your four-legged friends. Admission is $10, children 12 and under go free.
Rotary gala
