Nurse Leila Fundraiser
Jan. 24: The National Trust for the Cayman Islands hosts a fundraising auction at Ristorante Pappagallo. Featured Caymanian artists include Darvin Ebanks, Charles Fredrick, Lizzie Powell and Pat Nicholson. All money funds raised will go toward the preservation of Nurse Leila’s former historic wattle and daub home, West Bay, purchased by the Trust in 2006. Tickets are $75 and are available at the Trust’s office. 

Fashion for the Animals
Jan. 29: Help raise money for the Cayman Islands Humane Society with a fashion gala at Camana Bay, 5:30 p.m. Event includes fashion show, auction, entertainment and prizes throughout the night. Tickets, available from the Humane Society’s Book Loft, Must Love Dogs, NKY, Abacus and Utopia, are $30 general admission with welcome drink, $75 for VIP, including wine and hors d’oeuvres.

Mingle and Jingle fundraiser
Feb. 4 and 25: Osetra Bay partners with Cayman’s Act of Random Kindness for a two-time dinner event to raise money for 19-month-old Skylar May Ebanks, who was diagnosed with brain cancer at birth. Although she has no sign of the disease now, money will be used to help “Mimi” have ongoing physical, occupational and speech therapy, as insurance provides little coverage. $40 for any two courses, with complimentary “Mimi-Mosa.” Email reservations@osetrabay.com.

Whisky Tasting
Feb 5: One Dog at a Time hosts a whisky-tasting fundraiser, 7:30 p.m. at Whisky Mist. Tickets, available from Whisky Mist or by emailing pwythe@chhs.edu.ky, are $30, including raffle entry, whisky tasting, haggis, Scottish-themed quiz and live band. All proceeds help the charity rescue Cayman’s stray dogs.

Music on the Menu
Feb. 5: Enjoy a live performance of Schubert’s piano quintet, “The Trout,” at Luca restaurant. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. with welcome drinks and canapes, followed by the concert and dinner at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $100. Advance reservations required. Email enquiries@caymanartsfestival.com.  

Taste of Cayman
Feb. 7: The annual festival returns to Festival Green, Camana Bay. Enjoy food from more than 30 restaurants, and live music. Tickets are on sale for $40 per person, or $20 for 17 years and under. The event is free for those 5 and under. Tickets can be purchased online at tasteofcayman.org, or at Books & Books, Celebrations Store in Camana Bay, all Blackbeard’s and Big Daddy’s locations, Funky Tang’s and the ClTA office. Drink tickets can also be purchased in advance at the CITA office.

Spring fling School Fair
Feb. 12: St. Ignatius hosts its school fair from 3-6:30 p.m. in Loyola Hall and on the school grounds. Raffle tickets are $5, games tickets are $1 each. Lots of food, games, fun and prizes. 

Cayman Heart Fund Red Dress Gala
Feb. 13: The annual, semiformal fundraiser at the Marriott ballroom from 6:30 p.m. includes Beatles and Eagles classics in a “Beagle Mania” show by local band Sea N’ B, dancing, drinks and hors d’oeuvres, live auction and prizes for the best ‘60s style. Legends Tennis
Feb. 13-14: Legends Tennis this year will be on the new court at Camana Bay. Matches include singles, mixed doubles and celebrity doubles.
