Five people arrested in GT attack

Royal Cayman Islands Police have arrested five people, three men and two women, in connection with an early Wednesday morning attack in George Town that left a man hospitalised.

Police said they would interview the suspects and that a file would be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions for a ruling on charges in the case.

The attack occurred around 12.24am Wednesday. Police said one man was set upon by about five to seven people near the intersection of Eastern Ave. and North Church St.

Police located the victim on Watler’s Rd. where he said he had been attacked and beaten. Nothing was taken from the man, although police said attackers demanded cash.

The victim was escorted to hospital by police where he was treated and later released.
