Visitor robbed on East End beach

Colliers Beach in East End
Royal Cayman Islands Police are searching for two men involved in robbing a visitor on Colliers Beach Thursday afternoon.

Police said the victim, a Japanese national, was punched in the face by one of the suspects before he had cash and other items taken from his rental vehicle.

The Colliers area is a fairly remote section of East End located just south of Morritts Resort.

Police said the victim ran to the road after he was assaulted and stopped a passing vehicle for assistance. The vehicle took the victim to Tukka Resaturant, where he reported the crime.

The man described his attackers as between 20 and 30 years old, having dark brown complexions and being between 5’7” and 5’9” tall. No arrests were immediately reported.

The visitor suffered minor injuries to his face and said he didn’t want to be taken to hospital.

Police have asked for witnesses to this incident - in particular the occupants of the unknown vehicle that took the victim to Tukka - to come forward.

It is not known whether the attackers left on foot or by vehicle. The victim’s rental car was a four-door blue Suzuki Swift and was parked at Colliers Beach when the robbery occurred.

Sadly these thugs probably won't be caught and even if apprehended the tourist will be gone and unlikely to testify.

Probably left on foot since they have no other skills to get a job and work for a living like the rest of us. Losers.

I seem to recall that those involved in a previous tourist incident were not prosecuted.

He must have not been familiar with Cayman or else he would have known that it's not safe to be on a secluded beach or out after Dark.

Welcome to East End - don't leave your litter but please leave your cash, valuables and any positive impressions about the Cayman Islands you might have had. Well done boys....just what Dr.Cayman ordered, a liberal dose of mug the tourists to rid the country of stay over tourists!

Seems I remember this happening before at a East End Beach with tourist and they broke his window out of his rental car to take other items.
