Calling all restaurants

The Cayman Islands Tourism Association is asking for entries for Cayman’s Favourite Restaurant, which will be announced in January during the 25th anniversary Taste of Cayman Food & Wine Festival.

All participating restaurants at the festival have a chance to be declared the people’s favourite — and the corresponding $1,000 cash prize — simply by registering as a restaurant vendor.

Taste of Cayman will be held at Camana Bay’s Festival Grounds on Saturday, 26 January. About 5,000 people are expected for the event, which the association said was designed to promote the talents and fare of island restaurants while supporting the tourism association as a fundraiser.

Some of the tourism initiatives supported by the association include Cayman Stingray Tourism Awards, Restaurant Week, Dive 365 project and unified lobbying efforts to support local tourism entities.

“This event is not only a premier food and wine experience in the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean; it is generates funds for the many tourism initiatives the Cayman Islands Tourism Association supports,” said Jane van der Bol, executive director of CITA.

Restaurants are welcome to submit registrations to be a part of this event. Booth spaces will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. All participating restaurants must be association members.
