Brac Pirates make a summer splash
12 August, 2011

We all love pirates and now comes the time to show our love.

Cayman Brac’s Pirates Week Committee kicks off its fundraising efforts at the Captain’s Table with the Brac’s Pirates Summer Splash on Friday, 19 August.

Local band C-Level will get pirates and landlubbers alike onto their feet, dancing poolside under the stars from 9pm to 2am. To make sure you have enough energy for all those groovy moves, Captain’s Table will be offering happy hour from 7 to 9pm, with food, frozen drink specials and beer buckets throughout the evening.

Prizes and more

The fundraising activity includes three cash raffle prizes, with the lucky winners announced the night of the event. Don’t go away empty-handed: Buy your tickets from any committee members to ensure your chance at first prize, $500; second prize, $250; and third prize, $100. After all, pirates and their friends could use a little shopping money.

All proceeds from the raffle will go directly toward materials, supplies and other necessary expenditures for Pirates Week celebrations.

Get on board

The committee invites folks from of all three islands to make plans to attend by booking reservations for flights and rooms as soon as possible. You can plan a great staycation in Cayman Brac or have a reunion and celebrate with friends you haven’t seen for a while.

The Brac’s local Pirates Week Committee is counting on the enthusiasm and support of locals and visitors alike to help sponsor this year’s local Heritage Days celebration 24-27 November. Last year, the Brac’s contribution to the national festival was a spectacular finale to the monthlong celebration.

If you have questions or need more information about how you can be a part of the festivities or make donations, ring up Melanie Scott at 916-2380.
