The company signed a one-year agreement, with an option for renewal, on Friday, 24 June, by Festival Director Bernie Bush and Brian Williams, the CEO of SaxonMG. The package also includes benefits to Heritage Days in Grand Cayman and the Sister Islands.

Pirates Week officials said they were ecstatic about the partnership and looking forward to working with SaxonMG.

“It is wonderful to see a company such as SaxonMG invest back into the islands biggest event that the ripple effect is felt throughout all three islands. With SaxonMG on board we will be even bigger and better,” Mr. Bush said.

SaxonMG are equally happy about the partnership, they said in a statement.

“For SaxonMG the transformation has begun – having recently acquired the longest-established and only wholly Caymanian owned insurance company, this is our opportunity to showcase the unique offerings that we bring to the table for our loyal customers, a customer experience not currently met on island – this is our chance to wow. We have said from day one that our priority will be to reinvest money back into the local economy, and what is more indicative of this than sponsoring Cayman’s national festival – having not lost momentum in 34 years, this is part of Cayman’s heritage, and it is our honour.

“It is core to our culture and core to our tourism industry attracting visitors from all over the world to join in this 11 days of revelry not matched anywhere else in the Caribbean. Having become the country’s largest celebration, drawing some 35,000 patrons – this is our chance to show Cayman that SaxonMG has arrived. We are proud to make our mark by sponsoring such a gem to Cayman’s social and historical calendar – go big or go home is our motto.”
