Motivation boosts Cayman Academy
14 September 2010

Cayman Academy students started off the school year with extra motivation.

Students at the school, an Adventist Institution of learning, had the opportunity to hear from motivational speaker and Pastor John Scott of Toronto, Canada, whose visit was supported by Cayman Travel Services.

Pastor Scott held motivational sessions at the school from 6 to 10 September, encouraging the students to push for their dreams and helping them realise that classroom studies are one of many small steps toward achieving those dreams.

“Completion of homework, taking time to study and hard work are all other pieces in the puzzle of reaching your dream,” he said.  Further, he encouraged parents to be supportive of their children in their schoolwork.

He also encouraged the students to keep God and prayer at the forefront of their learning, proposing that God is the only one who will get them through in the end.

“We realise that we are in a time where there is so much pressure on our children, so many negative forces, and we have to fight hard to keep them in school and away from trouble,” said Cayman Academy Principal Nelda Dracket.

“We therefore thought it a wonderful idea to have someone come in and motivate the school at the beginning of this new school year.”
