Five Cayman beauties spent last Sunday touring Grand Cayman in preparation for the Miss Cayman Pageant to be held Saturday, 26 September at the Lions Community Centre.

Contestants, Mysti Bush, Cristin Alexander, Trudyann Duncan, Shari Walton and Venessa Ebanks, started the island tour at the Glasshouse on Elgin Avenue.

Before heading out, Cayman professional makeup artist Laticia Davis-Eden helped create summertime looks to match contestants’ personality and make them even more radiant for the road trip.

Supporting the young women on their first stop at Boatswain’s Beach for a tour and photo opportunity were Miss Cayman Committee members and sponsor Cayman Airways’ Sir Turtle mascot.

At the Turtle Farm contestants had fun taking pictures with baby turtles and Sir Turtle and on motorcycles of the Life is Sweet bikers group.

The next stop was Pedro St. James Castle, where contestants met with tour guide Stacy Hurlston who gave them a brief rundown on the historic attraction. Even Little Jack Eden, the friendly donkey who wanders the castle grounds, did not miss the opportunity of a photo-shoot.

Before heading off to the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park, the contestants enjoyed a light lunch at the Lighthouse Restaurant.

The contestants also travelled along the Queen’s Highway and saw the wreck of the Tens Sails.

Another fundraising highlight, the Minister’s Black Tie Ball, is scheduled for Saturday, 18 September at the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort, hosted by Minister of Tourism McKeeva Bush.

Tickets for the pageant are available from the Ministry of Tourism, Environment, Investment and Commerce. Contact Patricia Ulett at 244-2420 or 244-2428, or email patricia.ulett@gov.ky.
