A third man was arrested this week in connection with the 11 March shooting death of Marcos Duran in West Bay.

Royal Cayman Islands Police said a 23-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday in West Bay on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact in connection with the killing.

Mr. Duran, 29, of Ecuador was shot to death in the stairwell of his apartment complex on Maliwinas Way the evening of Thursday, 11 March.

A 16-year-old male was arrested earlier in the year and charged with murder in Mr. Duran’s death. Because of his age, the Caymanian Compass has not identified the suspect.

A 29-year-old man, Craig Victor Johnson, was also remanded in custody in connection with the killing and appeared in court back in May.

According to the details of the charge outlined in court, Johnson knew that a certain person murdered Mr. Duran and, on the day of the murder transported that person from the scene of the murder.

Johnson was charged as an accessory to murder.
