House fire considered suspicious
2 September 2010

Cayman Islands Fire Service crews were investigating a suspicious fire in Bodden Town Monday night.

A family of four, including two young children, were not harmed in the house fire in the Midland Acres neighbourhood Monday night. It was believed they were not home when flames broke out.

No cause has been determined. However, Chief Fire Officer Dennom Bodden did confirm that an empty gas canister was found outside the home by investigators.

According to RCIPS inspector Dane Pinnock, the home on Periwinkle Drive was completely engulfed in flames by the time fire crews and police arrived at 9pm Monday.
