House fire leaves family homeless
31 August, 2010

A house fire that broke out in the Midland Acres neighbourhood late Monday night is being investigated by Royal Cayman Islands Police.

According to RCIPS inspector Dane Pinnock, the home on Periwinkle Drive was completely engulfed in flames by the time fire crews and police arrived on the scene at 9pm Monday.

A family of four, including two children aged four and two, lived at the small one-bedroom home but everyone managed to get out safely.

No cause was given for the blaze. However, police were asking people to report any "suspicious activity" to officers at Bodden Town Criminal Investigation Department or the George Town Police Station.
