Royal Cayman Islands Police have confirmed that one man has been arrested in connection with the Thursday night robbery of Portofino restaurant in East End.
Detectives said a lone gunman held up the restaurant just before 9pm on Thursday.
Witnesses said the gunman threatened a cashier, demanded money, and did get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police officers were scouring the area around the restaurant in the south-eastern end of Grand Cayman searching for the suspect late into the night.
During the search, a 21-year-old man was arrested by police on suspicion of robbery. He remained in police custody early Friday.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
