Police said the suspect fled the scene empty handed. He was last seen driving off in a Jeep Cherokee.

The victim sustained head injuries and was hospitalised overnight.

On Friday, RCIPS officers arrested a 28-year-old man in the Bodden Town area on suspicion of attempted robbery. He is now in police custody but no charges have been filed.

Now let's see if the justice system, should the suspect be found guilty, throws the book at him. No probation, no time served, no coddling. Remember, if you go easy the other criminals are watching. Also, if you go easy, the tourists, Cayman's main source of income, are also watching. It is time to expand the jail if needed but at least fill it up. You must draw the line on violent crimes. No leniency to perpetrators of violence.
Anyone who spends time in Cayman knows that Cayman is terrible on sending Caymans to jail for crimes against tourists! Change that and tourism will respond properly.
