Cayman’s first Winter Olympian Dow Travers took time out from his
hectic training schedule in Canada to visit a class of seven-year-olds at the
Signal Hill primary school in Pemberton on Friday.
Travers went along with his coach, Gene Bridgewater and Chef de
Mission David Carmichael, and between them they gave the kids a quick lesson on
Cayman life and culture.
The kids seemed more interested in stingrays, iguanas and turtles,
but Dow didn’t mind. It gave him a nice break from preparing for the giant
slalom on Tuesday.
