Cayman Carnival Batabano is
beginning a series of soca boat cruises on Saturday 27 February.
The cruise is on the Sundancer boat
and features a DJ spinning some of the most upbeat dance tunes of the region.
It leaves from Safehaven.
Donna Myrie-Stephen, chairman of
the Cayman Carnival Batabano committee, said that they hadn’t held a fundraising
cruise for a while but this year will change that.
“The night will feature some great
music with the latest soca straight out of Trinidad along with all your
favourites too,” she said.

As Sundancer has a licensed bar,
only revellers over the age of 18 will be allowed
Future cruises are on 20 March and
an April date which is shortly to be announced.
The fundraising event is one of
many, including a scavenger hunt on 27 March.
Tickets for the soca boat cruise
are $10 in advance and $15 at the dock. They are available from committee
members as well as Le Classique locations on Mary Street and at West Shore
Plaza.
