Consolidated Water meet launches today
22 February 2010

The Cayman Water Company (now Consolidated Water) has been sponsoring the Stingray Swim Club since the 1990s.

Even though the times have changed the company continues to support local swimming.

The Stingray Club is delighted that the company is once again the sponsor of its first four-day meet of 2010, the Consolidated Water age group championships and carifta trials.

All of the swimming action gets started today at the Lions Pool in George Town and wraps up this coming Sunday.

The racing will start with the distance section and resume on Friday when the youngest swimmers (six and under) will have all their races.

All other age-groups are spread over Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Stingray Club reminds swimmers not to be put off by the inclusion of the words “CARIFTA Trials” in the title. Today’s meet is much more than that though traditionally the CARIFTA team is announced on the final day and many swimmers use this meet to make qualifying times.

The Stingray Club feels the year got off to a great start at the KPMG Burner and is hoping to have another big turnout for this event. With the continued support of the public the club hopes to make this a great year for swimming.
