Verdicts for Kirkland Henry and Larry Prinston Ricketts have been postponed until Monday, 22 February, 10am.

Charged with the murder of Estella Scott Roberts, they were scheduled to return to court of Friday, 19 February. An amended court list was sent out by Clerk of the Court Valdis Foldats on Thursday afternoon. No reason was given for the change.

Chief Justice Anthony Smellie heard the matter without a jury at the defendants’ request. Trial started on Monday, 1 February and concluded with closing speeches by counsel on Friday, 12 February.

Before the trial, Henry pleaded guilty to abduction, rape and robbery of Mrs. Scott Roberts on the night of 10-11 October 2008. He maintained his plea of not guilty to her murder that same night.

Ricketts pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Solicitor General Cheryll Richards presented the case for the prosecution, assisted by Crown Counsel Kirsty-Ann Gunn.

Henry, who did not give evidence during the trial, was represented by lead counsel Ian Bourne, who was instructed by Attorney Ben Tonner.

Ricketts, who did give evidence, was represented by Robert Fortune, who was instructed by Attorney Gordon Aspden.
