Radio ad spoofs floating bar
By: Joe Shooman
10 January, 2010

A spoof radio ad played last week parodies the planned new floating bar at Stingray City.

To a thumping party soundtrack, the high-octane, one-minute piece features a pair of radio DJs eulogising about the attractions available, including '2 for 1 cocktails'.

'You haven't partied until you've partied with the stingrays

'You haven't done a shot of Jaeger until you've done it off the back of a stingray… Thursdays is 'humiliate the tourist' day; convince any tourist to never come back and get a free shot of Jaegermeister.

'Floating bar at Stingray City: enjoy it before we destroy it.'

The irreverent mock-advert goes on to claim that there will be a new 'Holy Bar' coming to local churches including '2 for 1 Jesus Juice', a give-away of free residency and a competition to win key employee status.

It concludes:

'We're completely degrading everything we hold sacred…coming soon, the 'destroy the reef excursion'. The Cayman Islands - we'll do anything for a tourist dollar.'

The parody has already been aired on local radio station, Z99.
